The data revealed by Statistics Finland also shows that first registrations decreased by 6.8 per cent from the corresponding month of the previous year. In August, the number of new passenger cars registered was 7,729, nearly 2.4 per cent up from the corresponding month of the year before.
In the January to August period of 2013, a total of 122,453 vehicles were first registered. Compared to the year before, there was a decrease of 12.8 per cent. The number of passenger cars first registered in the January to August period was 72,738, which is 10.1 per cent down from the year before.
The most common passenger car makes first registered in the January to August period were Volkswagen, Toyota and Ford.
