The recent spying scandal by the USA has provided a good platform for the Finnish cyber security companies to dive into the international market and seek growth, said Marko Heikkinen, strategic programme manager for the centre for technological and innovation advancement (Tekes).
Revelations of spying by the American National Surveillance Agency (NSA) has raised suspicions about the American cyber security companies, especially in Russia and Asia.
“Finland is seen a neutral partner,” said Heikkinen Tekes. However, Programme manager Suvi Sundquist is surprised that Finnish exportation of cyber security has remained grounded.
Sundquist added that small firms had started to form security clusters which are easily tracked by foreign buyers.
The Tekes programme aims to bolster security cooperation between companies.
In addition, Tekes is currently looking to enhance international growth in innovations for security companies which would be beneficial for public experts and financial services.
