Photo Lehtikuva The Finnish game company Supercell made huge spikes both in its turnover and operating profit in 2013, Finnish Broadcasting Company YLE reported on Wednesday.
Supercell revenue surged by over 860 percent from 78 million euros (105.9 million U.S. dollars) in 2012 to 672 million euros in 2013, According to the report.
The company's operating profit also increased considerably, from 38 million euros in 2012 to 349 million euros last year.
Supercell's has kept at least two top-selling applications--Clash of Clans and Hay Day, which are well-known Freemium games and have been reported to make a revenue of 2.4 million a day.
Ilkka Paanamen, founder of the company, said that the shareholders own their shares directly and not through tax haven-registered companies as some suspected, and its headquarter will remain in Finland.
Supercell is a Finnish game company founded in June 2010 in Helsinki. The company makes online games that offer a deeper experience than basic social media games while being more accessible than the hard-core PC online games. It has developed rapidly since 2011 when starting to develop and release several video games.
