A total of 67 million tonnes of goods were transported by lorries in the second quarter of the current year, according to Statistics Finland’s data.
The volume of transported soil materials decreased by six per cent but that of other goods increased by three per cent compared to the second quarter of 2013.
The total transport volume of lorries amounted to 5.4 billion tonne-kilometres in the second quarter of 2014, which was ten per cent more than in the corresponding quarter of 2013. The data show 93 per cent of the volume was transported by professional lorries and seven per cent by private ones.
