Metsä Wood, a part of the forest industry company Metsä Group, has initiated a performance improvement programme entailing an estimated personnel reduction need of approximately 200 man-years.
The personnel reduction in Finland is estimated at 140 man-years, said Metsä Group.
In a statement, Metsä Group said reductions in production personnel are projected to materialise mainly through retirements and will be implemented in stages over the next two year.
Metsä Wood employs approximately 2,500 people.
