Some Pepsi Max cans might have been filled with alcohol, forcing the beverage manufacturer Hartwall to recall a small batch of Karjala brand of beer cans and Pepsi Max cans.
According to the company, the error possibly took place in the production line where the soft drink is filled first followed by the beer packaging. During the filling, apparently empty Pepsi Max cans were filled with beer.
Two customers had contacted Hartwall by Wednesday. Both the customers had bought the beverage from the same Prisma store in Lahti.
The recall concerns 4.5 per cent Karjala packed in 0.33 litre cans sold in packs of six and 0.33 litre Pepsi Max cans. For both the batches, the best before stamp is 190117 16:31L6025 K0854.
For the beer cans, the recall concerns beer sold at 16:31 to 17:31 o’clock and for the Pepsi Max the time was 15:45 to 17:32.
The news of the mixed up alcohol was reported by the Finnish language daily Etelä-Suomen Sanomat.
