The Olkiluoto nuclear power plant produced 14.26 TWh of electricity in 2015 which accounted for about 17 per cent of the total domestic demand, said Teollisuuden Voima (TVO) in a statement.
TVO’s turnover decreased by about 15 per cent to 275.7 million euros last year.
The amount of electricity supplied to the shareholders also dropped slightly.
The company said the drop in the amount of electricity delivered to shareholders was mainly caused by a near three-week shutdown of OL2 due to water leakage in the generator in February, as well as the decreased supply of electricity from the Meri-Pori coal-fired power plant.
TVO supplies electricity to its owners, a cost-price principle referred to as ‘Mankala principle’.
According to TVO, the electricity delivered to shareholders was mainly caused by a near three-week shutdown of OL2 due to water leakage in the generator in February, as well as the decreased supply of electricity from the Meri-Pori coal-fired power plant.
