A total of 20 aspirants including former interior minister and lawmaker Päivi Räsänen are vying for the position of the director general of the national pension insurance institution Kela.
Among the other prominent applicants for the post are Ministry of Finance Budget Department Director General Hannu Mäkinen, Ministry of Social Affairs and Health Director General Outi Antila, Housing Finance and Development Centre Director General Hannu Rossilahti, and Kela Deputy Director General Kari-Pekka Mäki-Lohiluoma.
Kela is looking for a new director general as the current DG Liisa Hyssälä will be retiring at the turn of the year.
