One unit member was injured in an explosion took place at a fireplace of Pori brigade at Satakunta Säkylä on Sunday.
The reason behind the incidence could be an explosion of a blank.
The empty blanks were burned in a fire when it exploded during the training at 9 a.m. when an object darted to the draftee’s calf. The wounded trainee was rushed to Loimaa hospital.
The leader of the training, major Markku Niemi, said that the injury is not that much serious and it will not stop the draftees service.
According to the major, it was a humane error though, he said, that these kinds of mistakes are very rare in the defence forces.
