The court ruled that the National Board of Patents and Registration of Finland (PRH) was not right when it rejected the application of Finnish Cannabis Association to get registration.
The court said the registration of the organization cannot be denied on the basis, which does not meet the required moral code of conduct.
The court further stated that denial of registration to the association seriously jeopardizes the right to association.
Thus rejection of the application for registration of association could only be taken place based on the operand Convention on Human Rights, and the Court of Human Rights can only do it on very strong grounds.
The Supreme Administrative Court overturned the decision of the PRH and the appeal board in this regard.
Cannabis Association applied for registration in 1993 but was denied by the Ministry of Justice.
