The Labour Court of Finland has fined the Finnish air traffic controllers association and Ilmailutietotekniset (ILLT) an association in charge of air navigation operations for breach of industrial harmony.
The Court ordered the two establishments to pay their employers 2,600 Euro in compensation fines and legal costs.
The workers went on strike last April in Tampere protesting a plan of Finavia, the authority responsible for maintaining airport networks and the air navigation system in Finland.
Finavia planned to transfer Tampere Air Service to Helsinki. During the strike the employees left the work place.
The court ruled that based on the current collective bargaining agreement the employer had the right to direct tasks to its employees.
