Three hundred and seventy accidents involving personal injury happened in road traffic in April leaving 13 persons killed and 468 injured.
According to preliminary data of Statistics Finland, the number of persons killed was six fewer and that of persons injured 151 higher than in April 2013.
Of the persons who were killed, three travelled by passenger car, one by van and one by moped. Pedestrians killed in road traffic accidents numbered two and cyclists six. Among those who died, nine were men and four women.
A total of 1356 road traffic accidents involving personal injury happened in the January to April period. In them, 56 persons were killed and 1707 injured.
Of the persons killed, 32 travelled by passenger cars, three by van and two by moped.
Pedestrians killed numbered nine and cyclists seven. In addition, three other road users were killed.
