The Speaker's Council has decided that two additional sessions be held before the end of the parliament's term in order to clear the backlog, said a statement from the parliament on Tuesday.
The parliament will thus be in session on Saturday, March 14 while initially the parliament was supposed to go for a recess due to elections a day earlier.
The first additional session will be held on March 9.
The main parliament building will be vacated as parliament heads for recess due to renovations which will last until autumn of 2017.
The incoming parliament will be temporarily housed at Sibelius Academy.
