Russia will conduct Open Skies, aerial surveillance flight, over the Finnish airspace from Wednesday.
The four-day long surveillance flight will be conducted by an AN-30B surveillance aircraft.
The exact route of the aircraft has not yet been announced as the country to conduct a surveillance flight presents its plan to the host country upon arrival.
The flight is based on Open Skies treaty which enables member countries to conduct observation flights over each other’s airspace based on a prior notification.
Finland has been party to the treaty since 2003.
Finland carried out a surveillance flight over Russia on a Swedish aircraft in March. Russia conducted a similar surveillance flight in Finnish airspace a year ago in July.
