Jyväskylä saw a peaceful pro-multiculturalism demonstration on Tuesday, said the police.
A procession leading the demonstration under the banner “dream come true” left the church park at 6.00 pm and paraded the streets of the city centre as had been agreed with the police in advance.
The march came to a halt in front of the town hall.
According to police estimates, around a thousand people took part in the rally organised in protest against racism.
An invitation posted on the social media site Facebook asked people to show that the Neo Nazi group Finnish Resistance Movement has no future in Jyväskylä.
The event was organised by a group of individuals.
