Rovio will reduce its workforce by almost a third, as they currently have about 670 employees worldwide.
The reductions will affect almost the entire organisation. The only ones unaffected are employees working on the Angry Bird film in the US and Canada.
Rovio says that the reorganisation will allow them to return focus to the games, as well as media and consumer products.
The company promises to provide employment assistance to those laid off.
