The Finnish company MC Containers from Oulu has opened a new office in Hamburg, Germany.

The decision was driven by a growing number of international clients and partners, said MC Containers in a press release.

“We have operated for more than 10 years in the Finnish market and along the years we have expanded our company to international markets throughout our 52 depots around the world. Opening our own office in one of the largest ports in the world was a logical next step for us,” said MC Containers Founder and CEO Ralf Mattson.

MC Containers is a privately held family company, one of the biggest companies in Finland selling and renting seaworthy and special containers. The company was established in 2004 and is also known as Oulun Konttivuokraus Oy in the Finnish market. The Hamburg office is its first own international office.

The Hamburg office, opened officially in October, operates as a private company under the same brand name MC Containers and officially under the name Mattson Containers GmbH.

The new company will be managed by Jesse Mattson who returns to the family-owned business as CEO of the German office. Mattson Containers GmbH is responsible for maintaining and developing MC Containers’ international client base and partners.

“Hamburg was an easy pick when deciding the location of our new office. It is one of the most important ports in the world and majority of our industry players are located in the same area.

The Hamburg port is also a major hub for the trade coming out or in from Finland,” said Jesse Mattson.
