Fiskars has decided to transfer production from the Helsinki ceramics factory to foreign manufac-turers.
Production halts in Helsinki during the January-March quarter, which will result in 120 layoffs.
Fiskars spoke of the decision in September, a result of codetermination negotiations, on Monday.
Moving the ceramics production out of Finland is part of Fiskars Group's restructuring program, which aims at improving the competitiveness of its manufacturing and distribution network.
Product development and portfolio management, as well as related design and branding decisions, will remain in Finland, Fiskars said in a statement.
The Helsinki ceramics factory mainly produces plates and saucers. The majority of Fiskars ceramic manufacturing is already carried out abroad.
