The Public and Welfare Sector Federation (JHL) on Wednesday announced support measures for the striking postal workers.
 
According to JHL, the measures relates to ferries and air transport.
 
JHL called its members working in airports not to handle in any way departing postal related consignments at Finavia operated airports in the country on the last day of November and the first day of December.
 
According to the latest announcement made by the Post and Logistics Union (PAU), the work stoppage will continue until December 9, National Conciliator Minna Helle revealed in a Twitter feed.
 
According to PAU, the work stoppage will extend to postal number areas 11-19 (Hämeenlinna and Lahti).
 
Furthermore, the Finnish Cabin Crew Union -SLSY also gave backing to PAU. The union submitted a notification to the national conciliator on ban of overtime for all its union members.
 
The ban will enter into force on Monday and will be in effect until Friday. The union said if necessary it is ready to continue with the prohibition of overtime.
