The finance ministry on Monday night made public the remaining unpublished documents related to the secret deal in which Finland had guaranteed Greece to provide a bailout loan two years ago.

The documents were released through a posting on the ministry webpage at 8:00pm.

Finance Minister Jutta Urpilainen said she came to know about the non-availability of some documents on the website from media reports on Sunday and the information surprised her.

‘After being informed to this effect, I ordered that all the documents must be put on the website,’ Urpilainen told news agency STT.

She, however, said that all the information regarding the deal was available with the ministry but was not put on the internet and anyone could collect it on request.

Earlier on May 14, the finance ministry released the secret deal document on a Supreme Administrative Court directive asking the government to make the agreement public, excepting identities of the banks.

Finance ministry sources said information concerning all the banks was available there including the supporting documents and only the identifying data of the banks, contract partners of Finland, would be kept secret.

Some of the documents, however, will be available in English only, said the ministry.

Earlier on Sunday, Urpilainen admitted that some documents related to the bailout deal between Finland and Greece inked two years ago remained unpublished.

She said the unpublished documents were supporting letters of the deal.

After the court verdict, the finance minister said the surety disclosure of Greece would not put any impact on Finland and the decision of the Finnish administrative court had already been relayed to the Greek government.

Finland asked guarantee from Greece when the EU member states negotiated for a loan package for Greece two years back during its financial crisis.

The Greek government met the requirement but told the Finnish government to keep the deal secret.
