FTimes-STT Report, February 5
Jyväskylä police station was evacuated after a man walked in and handed over war time explosive to the authorities on Tuesday.
According to police, the man had kept the bomb as a souvenir for years and now wanted to hand it over to the police.
Police revealed that the explosive was thought to be a World War II aerial bomb weighing two to three pounds.
The Finnish Defence Forces took over and safely cleared off to dispose the explosive to the military facility.
During the clearance, Urhonkatu was cordoned off and the building was evacuated.
Meanwhile, police are investigating whether charges should be pressed against the person who had the bomb in his possession.
Police, however, informed in a statement that although the man had acted thoughtlessly, he had no intention to harm anyone.
