The Court of Appeal took a similar ruling as the District Court in extending Aarnio's pre-trial detention and communication restrictions.
However, the court relaxed Aarnio's contact with his wife. The court ruled that Aarnio and his wife can have unsupervised meetings henceforth.
The Court of Appeal earlier had sustained the ruling by the District Court maintaining that Aarnio should not be allowed to have contact with other held suspects.
Aarnio has been in custody since November last year and is held in suspicion with numerous crimes including drug related offences, bribery and abuse of office. Aarnio continue to maintain his innocence.
