A taxi driver was attacked by an intoxicated passenger in Juuka, north Karelia on Midsummer night.
 
The 41-year-old passenger seized the steering wheel of the taxi, forcing it to swerve in a ditch. The man then started to land blows on the 45-year-old taxi driver, hitting him on the head.
 
The driver got out of the car with his eyeglasses broken and had visible reddish marks on his face.
 
According to the police, the man left on foot and went to a nearby house. Police followed the man but he tried to resist arrest.
 
The police have open charges against the suspect which include endangering road safety, assault and resisting arrest.
