The major political parties will spend an estimated amount of EUR 5.5 million in the next parliamentary elections scheduled for spring 2015, reported the Finnish language newspaper Keskisuomalainen.

According to the report, the ruling Kansallinen Kokoomus and Suomen Sosialidemokraattinen Puolue (Social Democratic Party) and the opposition Suomen Keskusta Puolue (Centre Party) are planning to spend the highest in the upcoming elections. They are estimated to spend one million euros each.

The report quoting party sources said the expenditure of the National Coalition Party will be significantly lower than in the last polls, when the party spent EUR 1.6 million.

The Vasemmistoliitto (Left Alliance) and the Suomen Ruotsalainen Kansanpuolue (Swedish People’s Party of Finland) estimate to spend about 700,000 euros each, while the main opposition Perussuomalaiset (True Finns) has estimated its election budget at EUR 600,000-700,000.

The True Finns have planned a budget higher than in the previous elections when it spent 460,000 euros.

The Suomen Kristillisdemokraatit (Christian Democrats) is planning to spend less than 400,000 euros in the elections.

The Vihreä Liito (Green League) is also thinking to spend an amount lower than the previous one when it spent 370,000 euros. The party has stipulated 160,000 euros for the polls. In addition, it will consider taking some loans.
