Traffic during the Easter holiday saw some drunk driving and speeding. In addition to cars, snowmobiles also saw a fair share of intoxicated drivers, according to police who also mentioned the endangerment of road safety all around Finland.

In Häme, the police received more calls than usual on Sunday and Monday. Apart from complaints of drinking and driving, the police were called to several homes to settle disputes escalated by intoxication.

According to police in eastern Finland, the number of drunk drivers busted over Easter was more or less on par with any other weekend. The number of speeding tickets, however, was higher.

In Helsinki, though, according to police, Easter has no effect on the number of drunk drivers.
