A District Court on Thursday sentenced one person to nine years and 6 months imprisonment for a murder committed in Riihimäki prison in mid 2014.
Another accused of the case, however, was acquitted as the court did not find his involvement in the crime.
The co-accused was left to continue to receive care at the Niuvanniemi hospital.
A male prisoner was killed after a violent confrontation at the Riihimäki prison facility's kitchen in May last year.
The two men admitted to have been involved in the violence but denied the murder charge. In their own words, the two said they did not intend to kill the victim.
