Finland sets up temporary consular at Kathmandu Airport

The Embassy of Finland in Kathmandu has set up a temporary consular service point at the Tribhuvan International Airport, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a release.

The joint Nordic consular service point in front of the departure lounge offers information and advice to those in need of assistance.

The service point that can be identified from the flag of Finland and yellow uniforms is providing Finnish citizens in need of emergency shelter with tents in the Embassy building yard from Sunday onward.

Finns can also visit the Embassy in Bishalnagar in order to have a rest, freshen up or charge their mobile.

A consular rapid response team, sent by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs from Helsinki, arrived in Kathmandu on Tuesday. The group of three persons is to support the mission staff in the assistance of Finnish citizen, said the release.
