Nikita Bergenström, one of the Finland’s most infamous prisoners, has once again escaped captivity. He is better known under his previous aliases Nikita Fouganthine and Juha Valjakkala.

Bergenström has been missing since November 18, the Criminal Sanctions Agency (RISE) confirmed to the news agency STT.

The prison issued a warrant for his arrest to the police.

Chief Inspector Ari Juuti said RISE has not recently done a danger assessment on Bergenström.

Juuti believes the police should have been informed of his escape, if he might be dangerous to the general public.

According to a report by the Finnish language tabloid Ilta-Sanomat, Bergenström received permission from the Jokela closed prison unit to attend a course outside the prison and failed to return.

Bergenström came to infamy for the Swedish Åmsele triple murder in the 1980s.

He was released on life parole in 2009, but has since received a number of less serious criminal convictions.
