As many as 435 road traffic accidents killed 27 persons and injured 506 others in October, according to preliminary data of Statistics Finland.
Among those who died, 26 were men and one was a woman.
The number of persons killed was nine higher and that of persons injured 41 lower than in October 2014.
Of the persons who were killed, 21 travelled by passenger car, two by van, one by lorry and one by motorcycle.
A total of 4,215 road traffic accidents involving personal injury happened in the January to October period. In them, 220 persons were killed and 5,211 persons injured. The number of persons killed was 37 higher and that of persons injured 336 lower than in the corresponding period of 2014.
Of the persons who were killed, 131 travelled by passenger car, 12 by van, five by lorry, 20 by motorcycle and one by moped. Pedestrians killed numbered 24 and cyclists 19. In addition, eight other road users were killed.
