Police arrested a woman on charge of stealing about twenty wallets in Helsinki, police said on Friday.
 
The woman is also suspected of payment fraud. 
 
The hint leading to the woman's arrest came from the public after the police had released the picture of the wanted suspect in December.
 
The woman is suspected of stealing wallets and handbags from the staff premises in large shopping centres in the city.
 
In some cases, she is suspected of using the payment cards stolen to make various purchases.
 
The pre-trial investigation revealed that the woman lives in Sweden and had few brief visits to the country. The suspected offences happened in November-December period.
 
The woman was detained a week ago and was remanded on Monday.
