At least 16 persons were killed and 429 others injured in road traffic accidents in January, according to preliminary data of Statistics Finland.
A total of 329 accidents involving personal injury happened in road traffic in the month.
Of the persons who were killed, 14 travelled by passenger car. Pedestrians killed in road traffic accidents numbered two.
Among those who died, 14 were men and two were women.
