Helsinki police conducted an ‘exceptional situation’ training in downtown Helsinki on Tuesday.

According to the Chief Inspector of Helsinki Police Communication Department, Juha Hakola, the exercise was intended to improve police leadership and operational capaci-ties.

The exercise was practice for convening police forces as quickly as possible in an exceptional situation.

When something exceptional happens, the police forces need to be ready to spring into action, even from home.

“We did not use a scenario that imagined a threat in a specific place,” said Hakola.

The exercise was also attended by the police special forces Karhu group.

Hakola said that the police were satisfied with the exercise.
