FTimes- STT Report, July 14

The Helsinki District Court on Wednesday imprisoned three men in remand for suspicion of probable aggravated deprivation of liberty.

“We suspect the woman has been kept as a prisoner and been abused. The incidents happened some time ago. I do not wish at this stage to comment on the motive, the manner [of the acts], or the timeframe,” Detective Petri Rainiala of the Helsinki Police Department said.

At least two suspects have drug offences in their histories. In addition, an aggravated assault conviction for one of the men was found in the Court of Appeal. There is also a pending district court case for assault in which the third man is suspected.

“This case involves persons who are involved in varying degrees of criminality,” Rainiala said.

The processing of the suspects and the documents related to the case have been determined to be secret. Rainiala could not say any more about the case publicly.
