File Photo – Lehtikuva. The citizens’ satisfaction with the government has slightly declined, found a survey commissioned by the Finnish language daily Ilta-Sanomat.
About 43 per cent of the people were either very or fairly satisfied with the government, while the corresponding figure was 47 per cent one year ago, said the survey report.
On the other hand, the proportion of fairly or very unsatisfied has slightly declined compared to a year ago.
At the same time, the proportion of those who are uncertain has increase.
The majority of those who are satisfied with the functioning government are people who earn less than 30,000 euros a year.
The most satisfied with the government are supporters of the ruling party (Suomen Keskusta), while the most dissatisfied are supporters of the Vasemmistoliito (Left Alliance).
The level of satisfaction of the supporters of the main opposition Suomen Sosialidemokraattinen Puolue (Social Democratic Party of Finland) with the government has increased: the proportion of SDP supporters fairly or very satisfied has risen over a year from 15 per cent to 34 per cent.
The survey was conducted by Taloustutkimus at the turn of this month and examined the views of about one thousand people.
