The Finnish Red Cross (SPR) has decided not to comply with the Finnish Immigration Service’s guidelines issued to the reception centres on asylum-seeker families, reported the Finnish language news consortium Lännen Media.
The Finnish Immigration Service issued the guidelines in August, according to which childrenare to remain in the reception centre while parents are sent elsewhere.
Asylum seekers who remain in the country without authorisation lose the right to reception service, but the guidelines state that children require continuous reception service.

Immigration Service Reception Unit Section Head Olli Snellman said that the guidelines don’t force families to separate.
The agency will clarify the directions in the near future.
