The Chair of Perussuomalaiset Nuoret ry (Finns Party youth wing), Sebastian Tynkkynen is facing trial for incitement of ethnic hatred and breach of religious peace.
 
The Deputy Prosecutor General Raija Toiviainen has raised charges against him following his writings which were posted on his Facebook account.
 
He is under suspicion for having threatened, slandered and insulted Muslims for their faith.
 
Furthermore, he is suspected of offensive intent to slander and desecrate things considered holy by Muslims.
 
According to the prosecutor, Tynkkynen has denied the accusations. Tynkkynen said that his goal was to have political effect and defend western values.
 
The proceeding will be heard at the District Court of Oulu.
