The Pirkanmaa District Court on Wednesday sentenced a man of 61 to five years and five months in jail for abusing children sexually.
The convict abused five children in between 2015 and 2016 in Urjala. The youngest victim was four years old, and the oldest was 10.
The man enticed the children by offering sweets and ice cream.
According to the verdict, the man was guilty of three aggravated and two normal counts of child sexual abuse, as well as possession and dissemination of a sexually offensive image of children.
The convict must pay a total of 32,500 euros in compensation to the victims.
The news agency STT did not publish the name of the convict in order to protect the victims.
The man has the right to turn to the Court of Appeal.
