Sun, 13 Nov, 2016 12:06:24 AM FTimes – STT Report, Nov 13 Aviation Union (IAU) Chairman Juhani Haapasaari. File Photo – Lehtikuva. Finnish Aviation Union (IAU) Chair Juhani Haapasaari on Saturday said the aviation industry has opted out of the competitiveness agreement.
Haapasaari said IAU and the service sector employers Palta are at a crossroads on whether air traffic services are in accordance with the competitiveness agreement or not.
The dispute is about whether the agreement will be renewed in accordance with the competitiveness agreement as IAU had interpreted or whether an agreement will not be reached, the IAU chair explained.
Palta, however, said the employers’ sector does not share the IAU view that the aviation industry agreement is unclear.
Haapasaari also said that the negotiations concerning the national flag carrier Finnair’s security checks are running into a dead end.
The agreement on security checks expires at the end of January 2017.
The news agency STT failed to reach Haapasaari to get his comment in this regard.
