European car sales fell further in June this year to hit the 17-year low, news agency STT reported quoting AFP on Tuesday.
The European Automobile Manufacturers' Central (ACEA) said the sale of new cars fell to the lowest in 17 years.
Automobile manufacturer BMW's CEO Norbert Reithofer in an interview with a German magazine said that the demand for new cars falls in Western Europe this year by five per cent.
Weak figures reflect the EU area’s slow growth and low domestic consumption.
