Itella logistics chief shop steward Risto Lintula said the aim of the late evening and night talks was to pave way for Thursday morning’s negotiations. Lintula confided that so far nothing had been agreed on.
Service Sector Employers PALTA Deputy Managing Director Tuomas Aarto said no formal negotiations took place on Wednesday.
The parties believe the strike will end as planned at Thursday midnight.
According to Itella, the strike will not affect mail delivery and cargo distribution.
On Monday, 300 ATK transport and terminal workers went on the strike following a dispute arising out of 20 employees being offered a new job description after the spring co-determination talks that consequently would earn them less money than they previously received.
