Kela is reducing its use of reply mail envelopes. Kela estimates that cutting down on paper mail replies will bring 860,000 euros in savings next year.
Generally, Kela correspondence includes a reply envelope or directions on how to reply to Kela using a transaction ID.
In the future, reply envelopes will only be offered in certain situations, such as special needs clients. Similar exceptions will be granted for clarifications for decisions from Kela.
“Kela has an obligation to save money, and this is one way to reduce costs,” said Kela Benefits Director Anne Neimala.
Applications and attachments can still be sent to Kela by post, but the postage must be paid by the applicants. Kela will encourage electronic applications which can accept attachments.
