Ten former Nokian Tyres employees have been charged with leaking company secrets.
According to district prosecutor Matti Jakosuo, the case entails “several millions” in proceeds gained illegally.
“I am not going into details at this stage,” Jakosuo said.
According to the prosecutor, Nokia Tyres dismissed several employees in product and product development tasks in 2010-2011.
They set up a new company offering tyre development services.
The prosecutor revealed that tens of thousands of recordings related to Nokia Tyres products and product development were found in possession of the suspects.
The prosecutor suspects the documents were utilised to sell technology and product development information to many foreign companies.
The suspects have denied involvement in the crime.
