Turnover in service industries grew by 4.8 per cent in February to April from the corresponding time period of the year before, according to Statistics Finland.  
 
One year previously, turnover in service industries grew by 1.8 per cent over the same period.  
 
In February to April, turnover grew in almost all main service industries from one year ago.
 
The growth in turnover was still fastest in information and communication activities, where growth amounted to 13.4 per cent compared with the corresponding period of the previous year.
 
Of the sub-industries of information and communication activities, growth has still been fastest in software, consultancy and related activities that grew by 24.4 per cent year-on-year.
 
Motion picture, video and television programme production, sound recording and music publishing activities have also been growing strongly, by 17.5 per cent.
 
Turnover in service industries also grew favourably in the main industry of professional, scientific and technical activities, where turnover went up by 6.5 per cent year-on-year.
 
The turnover of arts, entertainment and recreation activities also grew by 3.8 per cent from one year ago.
 
Turnover development was weakest in other service activities, where the drop from one year ago was 0.6 per cent as per the data.
 
Of the sub-industries of other service activities, development has been weakest in the repair of computers and personal and household goods where turnover declined by 8.0 per cent year-on-year in February to April.
