The task force formed to review lawmakers’ salaries has decided not to raise them at the moment.

The task force, however, observed that the present salary structure of the representatives was lagging behind those of others and not justifiable.

According to the task force, the salaries are lagging behind others for missing the 8 per cent annual increments.

The salaries of parliament members were raised last in May 2011.

Jouni Ekuri, former marketing leader, is heading the three-member task force that decides the salaries of MPs.
