A herd of about a thousand reindeer which had blocked a road in Utsijoki were guided back to Norway at around 3pm on Tuesday.
The herd blocked road for an hour earlier on Tuesday.
According to the Finnish Transport Agency, around 500 to 1,000 reindeer arrived from across the border in Norway.
The reindeer were moving in the areas from Karigasniemi 970 road towards Nuorgam and the area between Dalvadas and Paatusjoki bridge.
The Finnish Transport Agency did manage to warn about a very high accident risk.
