“There is no reason to change the established practice,” Slunga-Poutsalo told news agency STT.
The parliament will temporarily elect the speaker next week on April 28. Officially, the speaker will be elected after the government negotiations.
However, Slunga-Poutsalo did not speculate which Finns Party MP is likely to become the next speaker.
As a tradition, the speaker is chosen among MPs with long parliamentary career, but Finns Party has only few MPs with a long experience in parliament.
Slunga-Poutsalo, however, said the party has qualified second term MPs well qualified to execute the task with honour.
