At least 20 people were killed and 669 others injured in as many as 508 traffic accidents in June, according to preliminary data of Statistics Finland.
The number of persons killed was 10 lower and that of persons injured 159 lower than in July 2014, according to the statistics.
Of the persons who were killed, seven travelled by passenger car, two by van, one by lorry, three by motorcycle and one by moped.
Pedestrians killed in road traffic accidents numbered three and cyclists two. In addition, one other road user was killed.
A total of 2,665 road traffic accidents involving personal injury happened in the January to July period. In them, 135 persons were killed and 3,386 others injured.
The number of persons killed was 10 higher and that of persons injured 264 lower than in the corresponding period of 2014.
