Popularity of the Suomen Sosialidemokraattinen Puolue (Social Democratic Party of Finland-SDP) and the Vasemmistoliito (Left Alliance) has plummeted to an all-time low, found a survey conducted by the national broadcaster Yle.
According to the survey, the Suomen Keskusta (Centre Party) continues to lead with 23 per cent popularity while the Kansallinen Kokoomus (National Coalition Party) secured the second position with 18.9 per cent popularity.
The popularity of Perussuomalaiset (Finns Party) has also fallen, standing at 15 per cent.
Only 14.4 per cent of the survey’s respondents would have voted SDP in August while with only 7.6 per cent committing to the Left Alliance.
Support for the Vihreä liitto (Green League) is also sagging, as only 12.4 per cent of the respondents would have voted their way.
Taloustutkimus, an independent market research company, interviewed 2,447 people for the survey. The margin of error in the case of the larger political parties is about 1.7 per cent in either direction.
