Two inmates of Laukaa prison, who managed to escape on Tuesday during an open prison shopping trip were captured on Wednesday night.
According to the Inner Finland Police, one of the prisoners, Michael Penttilä, who was described as dangerous was captured from Vaajakoski in the evening.
The other fugitive, Tenho Långström, was captured earlier on a train in Ylivieska.
The police said the arrests were conducted peacefully.
Both fugitives have serious violent criminal background. Penttilä who is believed to have strangled at least three persons is also serving time for aggravated rape.
