Hynönen was 102 years old.
According to the news report, the family in a statement announced the death.
“Our father Hannes Hynönen passed peacefully after his morning coffee at 08.30 Monday morning, November 30, 2015,” said the statement.
An optimist, his attitude on life charmed viewers at last year’s Independence Day, and he received more than a thousand Christmas cards, among other things.
